Overview
Nuggets is a small
project undertaken mainly to get a feel for the use of bluetooth for wireless
communication. There were, of course, other reasons for writing Nuggets, such
as grades, but we feel that those are secondary
to the true educational value inherent in such a project.
Nuggets is designed to be run on small wireless
devices. The user stores a nugget of information about themselves on the device.
When his device comes in range of other devices running nuggets, the devices
will exchange nuggets. At the end of the day, the user can browse the nuggets
of people he passed during the day.
In addition to the obvious voyeuristic perks of
such a service, we think most users will choose to put deep
and meaningful information about themselves in their
nuggets. This should result in a globally
increased understanding of human nature and possibly bring about a golden
age of compassion and empathy.
